Since shortly after the game’s rocky launch, Nacon has been promising rewards for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown players who hopped on before the game’s first major patch – and those rewards have finally been detailed.
If you played Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown before September 30th, you’ll soon have access to “an exclusive special edition of the 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe” along with “5 exclusive stickers for customizing cars”. These rewards will be delivered to launch-window players in December, when Season 2 arrives.
“Aware of their dissatisfaction and wishing to thank them for their patience, NACON and studio KT Racing have decided to offer them two unique items: an exclusive special edition of the 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe custom-built as an “Adventurer” edition, fully equipped for the island’s off-road roads, as well as a pack of 5 exclusive stickers for customizing their cars.
This compensation will be offered to all players who played Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown before the arrival of the first major patch, which was released on September 30. These items will be automatically added to players’ inventories in December, for the opening of Season 2.”
Ahead of Season 2’s arrival next month, developer KT Racing is deploying the game’s second major patch on November 5th. There’s not too much detail on Patch 2 for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown just yet, but it is set to “optimize game performance on Xbox Series X|S” – so we’ll be keen to check that out.
One of the reasons we’re looking forward to trying out this new patch is because, well, the new Test Drive Unlimited launched in a very rough state and didn’t improve all that much after the game’s first patch. For our launch day thoughts on the Xbox racer check out the link down below, and here’s hoping that things massively improve after Patch 2.
