Apparently, More Than 50% Of Xbox Series X|S Users Played Black Ops 6 Around Launch

Look, we know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has had a pretty big launch on all platforms, but we’re not sure we expected the Xbox version specifically to be this popular. According to Circana’s Mat Piscatella, more than half of all US-based Xbox Series X|S users loaded up the new Call of Duty game on the Monday after its release (October 28).

Piscatella took to social media to break down this staggering statistic earlier this week. The analyst says that 52% of Xbox Series X|S players in the US loaded up Call of Duty HQ on Monday. The previous Xbox record for the region was 34% – so this is a huge bump as Black Ops 6 arrives on the platform.

“On October 28th, 52% of active XBS players and 34% of active PS5 players did so. Both were all-time highs for Call of Duty HQ.

Prior to the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the previous high for US daily active player engagement for Call of Duty HQ on Xbox Series came on August 31st, 2024 (34% of daily actives).”

The analyst went on to say that “Game Pass very likely helped boost Call of Duty engagement on Xbox Series”, but that given the high player numbers on other systems, “it also hasn’t appeared to significantly detract from engagement across other platforms”. If this is all as good as it seems, Microsoft will no doubt be delighted with Black Ops 6’s results so far.

The Xbox owner has already let us know that the latest COD release has broken multiple records for the team, while the series has now pushed more than 500 million sales since its inception back in 2003.
